Callie Hart Complete Series Boxed Set by Renée Jaggér

Callie Hart Complete Series Boxed Set by Renée Jaggér

99 cents from Feb. 8 through end of month.

How many secrets does the Army hold? At least one that concerns me, which I found out after they decided I was unnecessary.
Get the complete Callie Hart series – all three books – to find out how long Callie will remain blissfully unaware of the danger she is in.

Thin Ice:

That advice about telling the truth? It’s highly overrated.

They say there is a point where you can’t go anywhere but up. I have to think guarding an underwear factory is such a point after running ops in the Sandpit overseas.

Besides, wouldn’t you get the heebie-jeebies walking around in a warehouse full of scantily clad plastic body parts carrying nothing but a flashlight?

Yeah, I thought so.

That first fight was vicious, short, and terrifying, and what I killed turned to ash…

Circumstances force me to accept a job (very recently vacated due to Ash-Boy) guarding the body of a jet-setting male model. He knows what the Army is hiding…

This might work. Well, if I can keep from applying my brand new two-inch heels to my potential boss’s ridiculously toned picture-perfect posterior.

Let’s face it. Can anyone see me keeping this job?

Me either.

Cold Blood:

Three people, four personalities and my boss’s mom is the Queen of the Winter Court. Can life possibly screw with me a little more?

After an exciting month with three assassination attempts on my client and three frantic weeks trying to get enough questions answered to make a life-altering decision, is a peaceful week in Spain with my best friend too much to ask?

Apparently. Ronan’s mom has other ideas.

Our security team was taking shape, but we weren’t there yet. The week was supposed to be a shakedown cruise for our new staff members, more or less.

Instead, we are pitchforked into a peace summit. What could happen?

Anytime you mix vampires and fae, it’s a powderkeg…and the fuse is very short.

Those questions I mentioned? Well, the answers just came right up and smacked me in the face. Too bad Ronan was caught in the crossfire.

When you fall into the sewers of Paris and ruin your best leather jacket and boots, then get dragged to a gala as your client’s plus-one, what do you wear?

I was shortly to wish that was my worst problem.

Feelings Run Deep:

Her landlord planned to demolish her house. The vampires figured, why not demolish her inside of it?

At least Callie doesn’t have to worry about getting her security deposit back.

Why has Vaughn been in such a rush to kill her? Is he afraid she can persuade the Winter and Summer courts to work together? After all, if the courts don’t unite, the vamps will destroy them all. Shouldn’t that be motivation enough?

Apparently not.

Callie will just have to persuade them to cooperate anyway.

It will be a bit harder to do that from the dungeon where the Winter Queen promised to toss her.

Has Vaughn finally outwitted them all?

What can Callie do to stop the slaughter?

Read the series fans are praising:
★★★★★ “Excellent first in the series. I really enjoyed the characters, they are flushed out to perfection. Take a chance and enjoy the ride.”

★★★★★ “Good read! Really enjoyed this book. I thought it was very good, especially for the first in series. Good plot, good characters and fun to read.”

★★★★★ “A good premise with a fast paced story that I didn’t want to put down.”

Waite on the Ripper by John Campbell

Posted By Fantasy Books Curator Leave a Comment

What if I told you that Jack the Ripper is a supernatural predator whose murder spree spans centuries?

Now that devil has come to Austin, and every woman in my city is in mortal peril. I’m Harmon Waite, a homegrown private investigator, and I’ve been hired to stop The Ripper, but all I manage to do is piss off that devil. As I go from hunter to hunted, I have a single chance to survive the night.

Of course, that’s when the fallen angel shows up.

“5 out of 5 stars! A true classic is born. This will be a movie one day!” —Tank

Targeted Age Group:: 18-85

What Inspired You to Write Your Book?
I like to tie several ideas together to make a good story, but the initial idea for “Waite on the Ripper” came from an article in the Austin American Statesman written back in 1888. That article claimed Austin’s Servant Girl Annihilator murders, which happened a few years before the Whitechapel killings, were actually Jack the Ripper’s doing. I read that a decade before I wrote the book, and I always thought it would make a good story.

Land of Midnight Days by Katrina Jack

The City is a dark and dangerous place but amongst the desperation and despair there is a ray of hope, weak and insubstantial, but with the potential to light up the world.
Jeremiah Tully has a single joy in his life – the silver flute his mother left him. Mute from birth, the flute is his voice; but the mystery of why his mother abandoned him is left unanswered. Isolated because of his disability, and his mixed-race heritage, he struggles to find meaning for his existence.
The metropolis is awash with demons and other horrors, can he drive them back – would that gain him acceptance? The silver flute is inscribed with the musical notes of a powerful melody that could be used as a weapon against the invaders – but there’s no guarantee that it will work.
Then one day a stranger comes into his life and all hell breaks loose…

What Inspired You to Write Your Book?
I used to work in a call centre and my desk was next to a huge window that overlooked the iconic art-deco Littlewoods building, on Edge Lane in Liverpool. In between calls, I would gaze out at the building and one day it struck me that it would make a great location for a story. I developed the idea further, over a number of weeks and hence, The Land of Midnight Days was born.

What Inspired You to Write Your Book?
I came up with the idea for this story during one of the lowest points of my life. A friend who I had considered like a brother to me abandoned me without so much as a word. It was at a time where I was dealing with a lot of stress and grief due to bullying at school and complications in my parents’ divorce. I was heartbroken. After a while, I didn’t want to be angry or upset anymore, so I took that pain and pushed myself to create something beautiful from it.

Heirs of the Frost by Daniel Greenbrook

Posted By Fantasy Books Curator Leave a Comment

The Hybrids stand on the brink of extinction. Each day they struggle for survival and fight tooth and nail against annihilation, but they are alone. Most of the world doesn’t know of them. Those who do are just as likely to help them as to call them an abomination, an unholy blend of human and elven, of Water and Earth. Half-elves. There are only a few who refuse to accept this hollow war and dream of something greater. Ralael is one of them, a young Hybrid with big dreams and an iron will, and when two elves show up at their gates with an offer from their king he defies the will of his entire community in pursuit of a chance to be heard.

But the Hybrids are not the only ones who deal with such hardship.. Fifty elemental cycles after the Withdrawal, the Ice Elves are turning restless. To prevent the unrest from spreading, their king is forced to take extreme measures to quell the turmoil, but will in turn be compelled to protect himself against those who would harm him — and those close to him. All of his relations are thus sent away from the crown city in the hands of capable protectors, except for one…

The circumstances are not an ally of either party. Before the end, everyone will have to make a choice, Ralael included. Does his mission truly come before everything else? What weighs more on the elusive scale of conscience? His kind’s future, or the life of a stranger?

Heirs of the Frost explores the northern forests of the land of Thessian, where the ice elves live: sensitive and righteous, they feel love and hatred stronger than any other people in their world.

Targeted Age Group:: 18+

What Inspired You to Write Your Book?
When the initial, raw idea for the world of Thessian came to be it was tied to my interest in the psychology of personality. The idea that would anchor this interest into a fantasy story was the theme of the Elements: each one has its own race and that race has its own traits that mirror that element. Now the title "Heirs of the Frost" should be clear: it deals with an aspect of the Water, in this case the Ice Elves.
This makes up the equilibrium, which si disrupted by the fact that the Hybrids exist. The story deals with acceptance, at its core: each elf we find reacts differently to the supposedly unnatural nature of the Hybrids.
Or, as the elves call them, Hyxaenn.

I was sitting in the most boring training meeting ever. I had done the exact same session five times. (I am not making this up.) No phone meant no book escape. Months later, I had the roughest ever manuscript. It was a good story.

Posted By Fantasy Books Curator Leave a Comment

The Council is the governing Coven over the Land of Five, a region entirely inhabited—and split apart—by witches with varying powers.

Lilith Lace, a witch thought to be born powerless, happily resides in Ignis, the Coven of Fire, until she suddenly develops telekinesis, an ability only seen in some witches born in Mentis, the Coven of the Mind. She’s terrified of it, unsure who she can trust. Her best friends, Helena and Clio, are hot and cold about what she can do, leaving Lilith even more unsure about her future.

At her Arcane Ceremony, the truth comes out.

When the Council learns what she can do, she’s taken under their wing and is finally told the truth—everything she’s learned about the Land of Five, herself included, have been nothing but lies.

What Inspired You to Write Your Book?
When I got the idea for this book, it was the first time that I branched out from my genre. By nature, I am a psychological horror/thriller author. I debuted in that genre, and love it to pieces. Will STAR remain in 1754 or somehow return to her own time, and her newfound love?
Only Father God knows how to bring this young woman back to himself.

Targeted Age Group:: 16-70

What Inspired You to Write Your Book?
My Inspiration to write this book came from several factors. Firstly, I love to read Time Travel stories, yet some don’t seem to get the vanishing back through time part correctly.
As a retired specialist nurse and aware of the unconscious patients’ ability to hear and know while in a comatose state, I drew on this understanding for traveling back through time. Having my seventeen-year-old granddaughter living with me
and sighting the rebellion in her plus praying for her safety, also contributed to the story.
When writing, I use my formed education of nursing, mental health, emergency medicine, psychology, and Bible College to draw an exciting picture of events.
