Paige and her joyful Aunt Glo have learned that the home they inherited comes with a magical library. They put together a book club group of loveable kooks to explore the magic. They’ve recovered from their first book journey, and they all agree on their next book which takes place on a cruise ship bound for Hawaii. Problem is, they were so excited about the cruising idea that they didn’t read the entire blurb on the back of the book. (“It was entirely too long,” explains Zell.) Once on the ship, they meet a charming and likeable man who blends seamlessly into their motley group. Too bad they don’t know why he’s so scarce during the day but shows up to join them every evening for dinner, drinks, and a show. When a dead body shows up on board, their new friend is labeled a suspect. Can they help him out by finding the real murderer? Or is he the real murderer? The book club will need to solve the case to get off the ship, out of the book, and back to their home.
An impossible choice:
destroy the academy and lose the mates who will keep me sane
or my brother dies.
Between my mother’s addiction to dangerous men and my own habit of attracting all the wrong attention,
I’ve learned the hard way: use or be used.
The only light in my life is my brother.
And when my mother’s murderous boyfriend threatens him,
I will do anything to save him –
even infiltrate and sabotage the only place willing to give me – and my brother – a chance.
My name is Sora. I was born into this world to a highly respected Mage family. All was well as a child; most children receive their magic at puberty… I was not that fortunate. Shunned by my family, I was cast out on my twenty-first birthday—a failure and disappointment to those who were supposed to love me.
Left on my own in Seattle with no friends or money, I made my way through low-paying jobs down the coast to Southern California. Fate finally smiled upon me in San Diego, where I scored a serving position at a diner. One night after my shift, I decided to walk to a dive bar near my home to drown my sorrows. That was where I met him: the Master Vampire of the SoCal Clutch.
It was either the biggest mistake of my life… or the best decision in the world.

What Inspired You to Write Your Book?
Deepest Midnight was inspired by thoughts I had about vampires and reincarnation. This formed the basis of the novel. I always keep a notebook handy, as you never when a random thought could turn into an idea for a book.

Jeffrey Gamett was born in Las Vegas Nevada and educated at Brigham Young University. He got his first job writing sports content for a local television station in college. Since then, he’s written professionally for numerous magazines and online publications. The Knights of Zion is his debut novel.
He lives in Henderson with his family
What Inspired You to Write Your Book?
The idea for “The Knights of Zion” came to me while I was discussing the Twilight novels with a friend of mine. My friend was very upset that Edward Cullen and his family were damned to be vampires for all eternity even though they had done nothing wrong. She cried how unfair it was that they were beyond redemption.
I laughed at her and joked, “Well, I guess vampires just need Jesus!”
This started a lively discussion on what it would be like if Jesus ever met Edward Cullen. Would Jesus try to heal the monster? Would the vampire try to suck Jesus’ blood? What effect would Jesus’ blood have on the creature? These questions needed answers. So I went home and wrote the first draft of my story, “Jesus Christ: Vampire Savior.”
Since most of my readers are devout Christians, I was later convinced to rewrite the story in more subtle terms. I changed all the names of people and places and took alot of artistic license. But at its core, The Knights of Zion is a story about Jesus and how he saved a nation of evil vampires from their own damnation.
