What Inspired You to Write Your Book?
When I wrote my first Fantasy Romance, A Sword of Blood and Roses, I knew I had to write the whole series. The characters were so compelling and I loved the fairytale twists so much! In the first book, Logan feel responsible for Prince Kian, and he's on a mission to find out what happens to him. Of course, I knew Kian was in deep trouble, but then again, he also was about to conjure up his perfect heroine. How could I not write this book?
How Did You Come up With Your Characters?
It all started with book one, A Sword of Blood and Roses. I created the dark fae world of Underhill, a place where there are multiple fae courts, each one more twisted and depraved than the last. But inside each of these courts are some strong alpha guys who are loyal to the core. They all are wounded beyond belief, but when I wrote about the Black Queen and you meet her, and you find out how dark she really is, well, how would you like to be her son? Could he possibly be a hero?
Of course!
Dark heroes are the best, aren't they? And Kian is cursed to be a beast, so he's not only got the beastly vibe, but he's a bit entitled. Good thing Bryanna came to my mind. She's sweet, but she's got a core of steel. I loved creating her because like her, I'm filled with doubts about myself. I think everyone is. She needs to find out she can do what's necessary, and that she's just as strong as her cousin and sister. I love writing heroines who tend to be just as filled with angst and doubt as I am, but in the end they kick-it!
